Panamanian Folkloric Music

Panamanian folk music rests rhythmically in africa rhythms brought by slaves to Panama at time of Spanish colonization. Melodically speaking has a strong European influence, mainly from Spain, specifically in the regions of Andalusia and galicia lesser extent. Indian music is what has exerted lees influence in Panamanian mestizo folk music. In Panama the chantey singing is inevitable, the use of maracas and flutes, known in different regions as "whistles" that are from native Americans Panamanians. The influence is without prejudice to say that in the indigenous regions, their music is eminently of his race with few foreign influences.
